I have an Arai XD, Kind of a MX helmet with a shield.

I also have a Shoei X-11, among others... I'm a helmet whore too.
The Arai XD has much more ventalation... It is also noisier.
Noise and ventalation go hand in hand... wear earplugs.
The visor is great in the sun, Not so great at 70+ mph... tilt head down to compensate for lift.
Living in Florida, Winter is the only bearable season to ride, So I am always focused on staying cool when purchasing gear.... Still looking for a well vented jacket that
doesn't make you look like a power ranger.
