If I plug in the right hand switch gear from a UK bike to my USA bike, will the headlight switch work?

I'm hoping that the wiring harness is the same and that the USA switch gear has a jumper in it to keep the lights on.

Taking this a bit further, I could possibly reproduce the jumper to keep the lights on and reuse the switch for something else. I would just have to tie some wires together inside the headlight shell as apposed to having the jumper in the switch gear. Then remove the three or four pins that lead to the headlight switch and reuse them as needed.

Thoughts?

If I'm going to spend 300+ on those ***** slick looking MotoLights, I might as well go all the way.
