The '91 indicates the "from year", and this is the year the Trident was introduced (into Europe), although I believe the US had to wait until '95 to start receiving the models. Mechanically I don't think the Trident changed significantly throughout it's life, although the late models (e.g. '98) did receive a (rounded) bodywork change.
You may have noticed Hagon now offer an additional remote pre-load adjuster, which may be worth considering, and I believe the shock spring can be tailored to the riders weight if required. May be worth emailing the US distributor or Hagon direct for more information and confirming the spec?
