Here is a pic of what the insides look like. The flat part
you see is from me working on them to get them out.
Like I said before I only wanted to remove 6" from the end
of the pipes. But I could not because the first 6" is welded
to a perforated piece of pipe about 13" long and another
pipe about 3". The perforated pipe has some type
of insulation stuffed all around the out side of it.
You will have to remove every thing.
At idle and at low rev's
they have a very nice growl to them, but when you crank
on the throttle they are pretty LOUD. It took me a little
getting used to but, I like them. People definitely know
your there.
If you decide to go for it, you will need a 1 3/8" metal cutting
hole saw like the one shown in the pic.
Use it to cut the plate around the end of the pipe.
And then just keep working it back and forth from both ends
using some kind of drift pin to bang it out from the header
end of the pipe. It is a little bit of work, but they will come out.
