You can definitely pick up an aftermarket replacement off eBay. For cheap, even. Unfortunately, I can't give you any better info than that right now. If I get a chance this weekend, I'll try to see if the switch I never used fits my spare rear MC. (My original switch started working again the day I was going to replace it, so I never did put the generic (K&L?) unit I got from eBay on there.)
