congrats tinhead. your comments about top-end noise got me thinking:
so how much valve noise is "normal?" i get a lively chatter at idle -- not loud as loud as a poorly tuned VW or an indian enfield, but it does sound like a machine. i kinda like it, but i don't want to damage anything if it should be fixed.
