After my off-road adventure on my Rocket a couple of weekends ago. My transmission has been giving me a little trouble. I've noticed that to get 1st gear, i would have to double tap the lever or very sharply jab it into first. I thought all i did when i laid her down was bend the foot shifter and break the connecting link the main shift shaft. Upon closer inspection, Iv'e noticed that the adapter clamped onto the main shifter shaft was not in it's normal horizontal postion, it's clocked up a geat bit. OK...guess i've got a bent thru case shaft. The manual recommends stripping the bike down and pulling the frame off the engine to do trans repairs. I plan on stripping the sheetmetal and laying her on her side to gain access. Knowledge and tools are no problem, and the internals seem very simple and straightfoward as far as disassembly and repair...it's just getting to it. Any suggestions or related experiences from my fellow Rocketeers?
Thanks, Bigern

I may need to clairify what has happen. The shaft is not bent up or down, but twisted. If you look at the end of the shifter shaft, there is a locating mark at the six o'clock postion. Mine is currently at the eight o'clock postion. Something is twisted, either the shaft or the shift detent connected to it.
As for now though...it's back on the Trophy 4! :-D
