That plug is not a ground. If it is what I am thinking, it is definately the plug for tuning. It connects to TuneBoy or the Triumph gameboy tool. The fin it attaches to is molded into the plastic undertray, so it isn't on a metal fin, it is on a black plastic fin. There is another grey connector that you might find under the airbox, usually down around the IAC Valve. That is a connector that gets used for some California emissions equipment and doesn't plug into anything on most bikes.

When I originally saw the plug disconnected...that's exactly what I thought it was...the ECU tuning plug. But, considering the problem I had with my rad fan, I thought it could be a ground.
