You know, thats funny...I noticed the same thing! With my half helmet I wear earplugs for the wind noise, and I consistently gfind myself cruising at 10-15 mph faster on the same roads in the same conditions than I do when I wear my full face without the plugs!
The bike does seem smoother that way also, but my mileage has gotten worse. Its a fair trade, still a lot better than my pickup!
