Man, i swear my bike is just running like it never has. The phrase "like a scalded dog" just doesn't do it justice. Last week as i posted i cleaned out my filter to find it really dirty, then side gapped my plugs. All week i've been riding to work and just never got "used" to how good it was running. (in other words the honeymoon continues and doesn't fade)

Then today i did a few more experiments. I side gapped the irridiums which were shelved after i saw how good the bike ran with the stock plugs after side gapping them. But the iridiums don't work as well as the stock plugs now with both of the sets side gapped. (and thats good considering the $ diff) SG'd stock plugs are the ****e ! then i did something i've been meaning to do for a long time. I've felt my bike was running rich in the mids with 2 regular shime plus one thicker one which equalled about 3.75 regular shims. So i removed the thick one from each needle and wham....the bike just friggin flies ! it feels like the torque just went thru the roof compared to how it was pre-SG and shim removal. I can be in any gear at any speed as long as i'm not lugging it and when i twist it it feels like i'm gonna tear my arms out of the sockets. It hits the limiter very quickly.

I just had to post this out of sheer extasy ! I feel like the bike just went up another rung on the ladder of performance and now seems very close to being at it's limit considering the internal tuning. (stroke, cams, etc) The side gapping did wonders, and combined with the right midrange jetting i think these are 2 things that are the key to making these bikes run thier best from my experience. I am absopositivly stoked !
