LETS CONTINUE THIS THREAD ON THE RIDES/EVENTS FORUM. IT WAS MOVED HERE BY MISTAKE. THE LIST IS BEING DEVELOPED AND UPDATED OVER THERE.......
They kicked the thread off of Twin Talk and so I lost the list of guys that had indicated interest there. If you did indicate an interest there, please post your name here and email me
mecscc@localnet.com so I can keep track of who is planning to go! Thanks much!!
Here is what we are planning:
I can't do it on a Sunday, obviously, except for a short afternoon ride. So, Saturday is the day I choose for this first attempt at getting together. I have come up with something to familiarize you with just a taste of the great riding in Tuscarawas, Holmes and Coshocton counties. Local and state roads. Somewhere around 130 miles + or -
When: July 8, with rain dates of the 15th or 22nd
Where: Meet at Adventure Harley (I-77 at New Philadelphia exit) at 10 AM. Leave at 10:30 to allow for stragglers.
Two sets of riders: speed merchants and slow pokes. I'm a slow poke but I'll have route directions for those who want to blast on ahead and meet up with us at the end. I'll lead the slow pokes and whoever is fastest can lead the speedies.
Route:
OH 416 south to Gnadenhutten (I'll show you the church on the way by.)
River Road and OH 258 west to Newcomerstown (my georgous commute route)
US 36 west to Coshocton at Lake Park exit
OH 83 north to Millersburg. Eat at Burger King.
OH 39 east to Sugarcreek
OH 93 south to US 36
US 36 east to OH 751
OH 751 northeast to Stone Creek
OH 21 north to New Philadelphia. Eat at Hog Heaven, 1 block east of I-77 at New Phila exit.
Split for home.
Some of the better long rides are south of this cluster of roads, but going further south makes it hard on folks north of Canton to get home at a reasonable hour.
Leave a message here if you are interested. And email me at home
mecscc@localnet.com with contack information (phone numbers, email addresses, etc.)
Open to suggestions for changes, etc. The main thing on this first ride is to get to know one another and set up future gatherings of the clan.
Incidentally, Sue will be coming on the Virago and all riders are welcome.
Thanks,
Monte
