I took Junee to Cootamundra where I turned right to head towards Gundagai before veering left 3 kms later to Jugiong (on the Hume Hwy). From there it's all Hume unfortunately but this is the shortest route to the inner west where I live.... 435kms.

Well, I stuck to 4,000-4,200 today and consumption went up to 20 kpl....but 105-110 kph would eventually bore me rigid.... semi-trailers pushing me on the flats and passing me on downhills.
I like the 18T around town and on windy roads or with my wife on board as was the case in the Adelaide Hills section of the trip but next long ride I'm going to experiment with a 20T, yes 20, front sprocket, upping the gearing 11%.

This would move me up from 126kph at 5,000 to 140kph at the same revs (a motor at peak torque at around 140 kph sounds good for the Hay Plain). If that proves too high a gear then I'll do future trips with the 19T original.
