Coming from the tuned gixxer thou, I did love the bike for bits, nice to clutch it up on 100mph and sit with 3rd gear as long as my hands could take it. However with now 2,5weeks on S3, people on jap bikes are giving thumbs up all the time but also provoking to race, wheelie, etc..
S3 is a proper Hooligan bike (just look at it!!) and you have to live with its reputation, in good and bad..
Only negative side on my new S3 is that I have slow down to 40mph on 2nd to be able to clutch it up and sit with 2nd.. no more 100mph wheelies then.. , oh well at least I have better chance to keep my licence and "stay alive"..

Hey man, the S3 will come up at a much higher speed than 40. I've clutched mine up many times at 60-65 mph in 2nd. I prefer doing it at a lower speed, but it can be done. I'll bet ya Corners or Tonup can pick it up at 100mph, but they are good at standups, I am not. Most people that are good at standups, can bounce the bike up without even using the clutch. I'm sure the S3 could be persuaded to lift the front wheel at 100mph, it just may take a bit more persuasion than your Gixxer1000 did. I know my 02 R1 would also clutch up at a higher speed than my S3 does. But I do have to admit, the S3 feels more stable on one wheel than my R1 did!!! If I can just hold that freak'n balance point!!!
:-D
