Underpowered? "Under" needs some reference point to be meaningful at all. Underpowered compared to what?

Compared to a performance car like a Mustang? I can accelerate at least as fast as a Mustang up to well past legal speeds, so with that reference point it has plenty of power.

Compared to a sportbike? Of course it is 'underpowered' compared to a vehicle that gives Ferrari-like performance for under 15K. This is, to me, a ridiculous comparison considering modern sportbikes are pretty much track bikes with mirrors and lights.

That term, underpowered, shows the bias we have in North America. More is better - always. Did the old cafe racers have fun tearing around London on bikes that could barely top the ton? Sure they did, so why is it so utterly disappointing to ride 20% faster than they did on a bike considerably more reliable? The Thrux is an absolute blast even straight stock and with some judicious mods, can be a beautiful bike with pretty decent performance.

If you want a sportbike, buy a sportbike.
