190 to 200 miles before the light comes on isn't unusual. Think the most I've managed is a little over 210. I'm generally considering filling up around that mark so I've never taken it down to using the reserve position. I always try to ride smoothly and consistantly and I use the mid-range rather than the top-end (I also lke the sound this creates!). In the car, my daughter suffers from travel sickness and my driving style has adjusted to making good progress as smoothly as possible and this also reflects in the way I ride the bike. I also get very good fuel economy in the car because of this.
Perhaps the cooler climate over here helps as well?
