I have an '03 T100, now with 18,000 miles at the East coast of Florida. I park the bike at work, just a couple hundred yards from the beach - but I do put a cover on it a work, and it's garaged at h ome. This part of Florida has a vey corrosive atmosphere. I have not seen any flaking -- I do have some pitting and some rust -- maybe the chrome is short on nickel? But given the conditions here, I'm not surprised. However, an '05 T100 with flaking chrome should be a warranty issue -- if I don't get chrome flaking here, you shouldn't either.
