Get the bike on a flat surface, standing on the LHS.
Lift it off the prop stand so it's level side to side.
Push down the footpedal on the stand till the legs either side are touching the deck (make sure they're both touching).
Hold the LH bar with your left hand and the side grab handle with your right.
Put your FULL weight on the pedal, gently easing back on the grab handle at the same time.

It'll just roll on (provided you weigh at least 75Kg - 100 is even better :-D ).
I think you just hit the nail on the head. I'm around 70kg - on a fat day. :-) I'm tallish (6'/1.82m), but not exactly big.

You described getting the bike on the stand (thanks!); how about getting it off? The only way I've found so far is to stand next to it and begin my Sisyphus act. I'm not tall enough to be able to push the bike off the stand when astride the seat, and the bike won't drive itself off the stand.
