I have just fitted rear engine protectors to my 98, the front protectors would not fit because of the radiator hoses, The R&G protectors are from what I have read and the advice given by "racers" are the best, the double hard protectors are liable to shatter, R&G's are pricey but are a lot cheaper than having to replace just one of the casings, my S3 fell off the side stand this morning (my fault for standing it on a bit of a camber while I fastened my lid) and the protector did its job, it fell on the can side and no damage at all, well worth the money mate.

Be careful of what you order, give R&G a ring and before you buy question the info as I was sent the wrong ones, even tho they were marked up for my model they would not fit.

in a good smash I would imagine they could bend the mounting lug, but it'd have to be a pretty substantial smash for that to happen.

best of luck

Lee
