Locally I'm sure you have a Cycle trader, they also have an on line site and of course there's ebay. By researching through all those places you'll get a pretty good idea of prevailing prices. Another thing you might do is take it back to stock - presuming you have all the bits and selling the after market stuff independently, or the other way around instead - prices are seasonal I've noticed, even for the bike. If you are in a hurry to sell, ie motivated you'll be less likely to get a higher price, so be aware of your own situation - that'll dictate what you'll get too. Quick sales usually are low, slow for high prices for a good bike take longer, but that's not always true. Typically though, take the first right price - if you want $6000, ask $6450 and let him/her haggle - play the game as it were. How you advertise and it's cost remember comes off the gotten price, so if you sell for $5800 and spent 3months doing it for a cost of $80 you've lost that - hence $5720. I would look into ebay first, people are going to ask you what the shipping cost is - 'Forward Freight' will ship across country for under $500 - terminal to terminal, they're going to be the cheapest and quickest - but you'll have to do half the work by taking it to the nearest airfreight terminal that they work from. California has a fair number of Triumphs, but not a lot of people who know the price, Craig's list is worth a try - SF has still quite a MC culture and some good dealers for support for any potential buyer. But keep your mouth shut about them until it's sold is a good idea, you don't want them going to the dealer and buying new do ya! good luck.
