Yep, I ran into that same PM problem when I joined.

The BIKE article gives what sounds like some good pointers. If I were to get another RS (or any 955 triple for that matter) it would be an '02 or later model with the revised motor. Not so much for the performance gain (it's pretty modest, IMHO) but for the smoother tranny and more durable valves/seats that seem to hold their adjustment better.
