If you can live with what it would do to the upper body angle, a higher seat would have to be an easier way to go than messing with the pegs. There aren't any controls that have to be properly set up on a seat.
Take your seat to an auto upholsterer, and explain what you want. A little thicker foam and a new cover, and there you are. I did something similar with an old Honda I used to have. I don't think it even cost $100.
