hey tupperman, see you're not that far down the road from me! I'm around the Winston-Salem area. Not only will the 180 work, I recommend it! Both of my R1's came equipped with 190's and I changed over to a 180, not only are they cheaper, my R1's handled better with the 180's! Some people will not recommend it saying you don't have as much of a contact patch leaned over, and the bikes were designed for what they came with. Yeah, yeah, I could spin my 02 R1 up with either size, and honestly, I think I had better control with the 180! Shoot me a pm or email sometime and we'll hook up and ride!
