All it looks like is a potentiometer, instead of like the others that is just one resistor, the pot can be adjusted to your liking. All it does is trick the ECU thinking it is sensing something else so it adjusts itself to that reading.

I like how they try and compare it to replacing an ECU for 1500. People who actually replace an ECU is putting in a some sort of major mod, say like a supercharge. Other than that, they find something like a power commander or tuneboy, or Hypertech, etc.
