I used a .50cal machine gun case [suitably chopped up]. The taper on the case was the correct size for the 'O' rings and shaft on the TSS.
I used a brass plumbers fitting reamed out by hand for the Trident and the same for the 750 twins.

10 minutes work to make the tool out of stuff I had just lying around, both work fine.

You can tap them out just enough to do them on the bike, but its a knife edge thing, you cannot use the taper tool, you have to use a knife edge or small screwdriver to depress the 'O' ring.
