The thing to do is wear Polaroid sunglasses with a clear visor, then depending on how the light falls you get psychedelic coloured bitumen.
Reminds me of when ... nah, won't go there .. I didn't eat the mushrooms, treely rooly :-D
[Edit: actually when you're in and out of shadows on a sunny day I find it dangerous to wear anything other than a clear visor; I need max vision when scanning the road at 40 metres per second]
