Dealer said some needles have an adjustment on them.. I haven't heard anyone talk about this. If it is there, does anyone use this for needle adjustment rather than shimming them?

Are the Thuxton needles available from the dealer only?
Sounds to me like your dealer is maybe not all that experienced on the subject ! Some needles do have clip type needles so you just change the clip position. But he should know that our carbs DON'T. Ours use needles without thie clip position and instead are raised by shimming them, which is just adding small washers to bring the needle up higher in the jet.

The needles are only available at dealers. I've been getting mine from palm beach triumph in florida because they were fine with taking my order, and i wasn't sure how many dealers would bother taking a phone order and go thru all the credit card BS and mail order hassle for such small profit item. But in any case, yea, dealer only. They list for somewhere around $7.50 each if i recall.
