I went to 18/45 because everyone said how great it is, and I thought the stock gearing was too high. I liked it around town, but put the 19 on for trips and left it. It is a bit lower ratio than stock, but the cool thing is, I can throw the 18 back on with a chain adjustment. The reason I didn't go with a 17 is the accelerated wear of the rubber S/A protector that people reported.
