I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I was going to take the battery out, but decided just to tighten the lugs for a quick test. That solved the problem.

Always a good check - if you are still experiencing problems get hold of a meter and also check your VR (the thing that regulates voltage out of the alternator).
