I had an 02 ST and it was a bit of a cooker when I first got the bike. But after the dealer updated the mapping the bike was a lot cooler on the knees. It never ran hot on the Gage with the original mapping but there was a lot more heat coming off the engine. So if you have never had your ECM updated you might want to try that.
