I've said it before and I'll say it again; My first set of points in the '70 lasted 23 years, and now I'm running on a set of used ones that came on the point plate that I bought at a swap meet in'93 (or there abouts); no problems with them, and they are simple and easy to adjust. Try to use Lucas points, they do last a long time, believe it or not.
