These speedometers are about 10% optimistic on speed. Mine is within 1% on the odometer side. I hate having to calculate how screwed I am when ever I see a cop so I installed a bicycling computer.
I use the Sigma 800 cyclometer from Rider Wearhouse. Best $25 I spent on motorcycling. This unit WORKS. You can mess around trying to fit something else and it may not work for a variety of reasons. A GPS seems silly in comparison.
