I recently ordered a Triumph Steve McQueen SE T100.
http://www.triumphmotorcycles.com/motorcycles/range/classics/bonneville/special/10238
Come May/June they should start arriving at the Dealers.
1,100 of the Steve McQueen SE's will be manufactured, a little over 300 (?) will be imported to the U.S. Each will have a plaque between the handlebar with an identifing number (1/1,100 etc.).
I thought it would be interesting to keep track of as many Triumph Steve McQueen SE T100's as possible.
When you receive your Steve McQueen T100 check in with your special identifing number, Country & State.
And don't forget to post pictures of your new Triumph Steve McQueen SE! :)

Chad's bike is 0000. Mine is 0002, and Triumph's is 0001. Alan rode the 0000 bike (and possibly the 0002 bike) at Bonneville where it was delivered by Matt Capri of South Bay Triumph. Alan was there to attempt a LSR riding a modified Storm.

The video of the Chad's bike build is complete and will be posted online shortly. I recently visited Matt and ordered the McQueen Racing kit of pipes, Ohlins rear shocks, front Springs and adjustable dampers, levers, and mirrors. I'll follow up with the Big Bore kit featured in the video, when I can get the bike freed up.

JetPilot, we launched this bike hoping they would get ridden and not merely stored. Understand if you can't rise for some reason, but if you can and are merely storing as a collector, please know Chad would much rather see these bikes ridden and enjoyed.

I have to admit I have been a bit of a lurker for quite awhile but I enjoy seeing everyone's modifications and pictures from bike trips around the world. I have yet to make any modifications with my bike #415 but I do enjoy riding it and have close to 4,000 miles on it. I figure if someone is going through all the trouble of finding out where the bikes are, I might as well add one more to the list.

New Mustang seat

After a lot of research, talking to seat builders and renovators here in the UK, looking at other Triumph seats and spending hours wondering what to do... I went for a Murray's Cycles Mustang (here), bought through eBay in the UK and it cost just shy of £300 delivered, including import taxes. Ouch! A lot of money but comparable to what I would have had to pay for a custom seat with a lot less hassle thrown in.

The service was good and delivery was on day 3 of their 10 day delivery window.

On to the seat... it looked good out of the box, nice quality and well made. It uses its own (fibreglass?) seat pan and the first thing to notice is that the Mustang does not have the two metal hooks on the underside. It weighs just 180gr (about 6oz) more than the standard SMQ seat, so no big worries there.

It fitted the bike with no problems, using the original bolts at the rear. And I don't notice the lack of metal hooks; maybe the seat pan is more rigid than the standard but anyway the seat stays firmly in place, does not move and feels very solid.

Mustang seat review and pictures

Pictures of the seat. It's comfortable - more than the standard one, though I have not ridden the bike very far yet on either, so difficult to compare properly. My wife keeps repeating how she can't believe how comfortable it is - she is more used to sports bikes like my previous Triumph Sprint RS, but it's true that the passenger is not forgotten with this seat.

After fitting, I made up a custom bracket for a Triumph sissy bar I bought (again off eBay UK, for £16) so my wife now has a comfy place to sit and a solid grab handle. I'll powder coat the bracket and then post a photo later.

You can make up your own mind about the seat and how it looks. Personally, I am delighted - it looks pretty good, it retains a similar shape to the original solo one while adding room for my wife. Of course, I'd prefer to keep the stock seat but, as I said, my SMQ is for riding and not sitting in the garage. I can always swap back if I want.

I'm going to live with it for a while and, once I have got over the shock of the cost of it, I'll look into re-covering it in the standard SMQ seat colour... but that's for another day...

Odd - the US states moved when I sorted the numbers - but the rest didn't. Very sorry. I hope this is better and thanks again to WC.

I have only put 3,000 - miles on my Steve McQueen so far but, I love it. I don't want to ride into the ground like my Harley? Its an 07 - bike and I have 117,000 - miles on that. The Triumph is to special for that. This new Triumph has giving me such a buzz. I will be trading it against a newThruxton soon.

British Customs Sleeper Performance Package install, replaced stock rear shocks with a pair of black Ikons. Replaced grips with Avon grips ( less slippery). Bike rides much better, sound has more Brit growl, pulls harder and suspension is noticeably less harsh. Really happy since the bike still looks totally stock. #716 NJ/USA

Hi all,

There is an elusive group of SMQ owners - no '200' numbers are listed......well 205 is alive and well in the UK. I've fitted TOR's, a 19 tooth front sprocket and I've adjusted the rear suspension to be a little stiffer (it feels better to me). Even with the Triumph remap I get quite a bit of misfire when decelerating so I've been looking at http://www.triumphtwinpower.com/bonneville-t100-efi-tunes.php I'd be interested to hear if anyone has any experience of this ?
