New RIII owners report to the dealer for the first service. They usually have a lot to unload. Dealership manager patiently listens to them and fills out a form which tells his mechanics about problems (P). The mechanics correct the problems and document their work at the bottom of the form (S, for Solution). Here's an excerpt:

P. Rear tire almost needs replacement
S. Almost replaced rear tire

P. Braking OK except ABS very rough
S. ABS not installed on this bike

P. Something loose around exhaust header
S. Something tightened around exhaust header

P. Pipe 3 missing
S. Pipe 3 found on the l/h side of the bike after brief investigation

P. Dead bugs always caught between flyscreen and gauges
S. Live bugs on back-order

P. New evidence of leak from the drive shaft
S. New evidence removed

P. A few bolts and nuts missing
S. Search underway

P. Pillion seat too hard
S. Pillion seat missing

P. No problem. Just do regular service
S. Progressive's rear shocks fitted

P. Bike scrapes its pegs in curves
S. Bike warned to straighten up

P. Suspect abnormal vibrations around 3000 rpm's
S. Suspect you are right

P. Paint scratches easy
S. Problem being reproduced in shop

P. Tune not right
S. Lyrics reprogrammed

P. Decel popping sound unbelievably loud
S. Sound reset to a more believable level.

P. Noise coming from the gauges. Sounds like a mouse nibble
S. Cat re-installed
