The cooling fan works on a sensor that senses coolant temp... not oil temp. I just looked through the service manual and it doesn't give a spec for what coolant temp the radiator fan kicks on ( at least not that I could find in the cooling section of the manual). Usually the fan will kick on at 220 F or maybe even higher. If you have an OBD II scanner you could hook it up and observe the coolant temp when the fan kicks on.

We have had some reports that if you get your Rocket really hot the ECM will shut the engine off to keep it from seriously overheating.
