I hate to say it, but unless you want to do it yourself (which is usually the best way) I'd definitely take your bike to a well known, reputable shop right away for a valve-check service and to have them look over your bike. After those monkeys touched my bike I certainly wouldn't want to put my life in their hands and actually *ride* the thing.
