Noises suck.

You can use a rubber hose as a stethascope to find the general location of the noise.. you can also use a long handled screwdriver... put the metal blade on the engine and hold the handle to your ear. You will be amazed at how well this works.

My bike will tap at certain times but it comes and goes. It doesn't happen very often... sometimes after a long hard run on the interstate. It sounds like valve train stuff but who knows. It could be anything. As you can tell... I don't worry about it because it happens infrequently and its not very loud and it doesn't get worse.

If it is an exhaust leak the rubber hose method will expose this quickly...
