Watch out for damaged con rods, my friends took a trip through the bottom of the cases and damaged the lower frame tubes. Otherwise one of the best, incorporating all the mods before noise and pollution control became an issue.
Auto advance units can be a problem at high mileages and do not be afraid to substitute newer electronic components such as rectifiers and zenners. Keep an eye on the alternator rotor and stator, if they become loose they sound like mains failure and can self destruct . My Bonnies were 73,76 and 78, they had none of the style of the 70 model but all went on for 65000+.
