interesting, i'll have to try that when i get my bike back. i always turned the key and hit the start button immediately and it always had trouble (the few times i had a chance to use it) starting up. I was figuring the battery was going bad since it's 3 1/2 yrs old already. I seem to learn something new everyday about this bike. hehe
