I replaced a fork seal on my 900 around 3,000 miles ago. I was extremely disapointed recently to discover it had gone again. However, I didn't get the opportunity to replace it before a 580 mile run last weekend. Vowing to replace it on my return I figured the forks would survive that long. Imagine my surprise to find that it has dried up. It can't possibly have lost all its oil or there would be evidence of this on the bike. I am quite pleased but at the same time suspicious. In the past on other machines once a seal goes it goes, although I must say that in all previous cases there has been a reason why they have gone eg pitting on the stanchion or bushes worn. My 900 has only just done 12,000 miles and the forks are still like brand new. Has anyone else experienced this?
