Phatdad,

I'll vouch for your comments on moose! I darn near hit one of them in New Hampshire last September.

I rented a Road King from the HD dealer in Concord and spent a day riding in the White Mountains National Park north of Laconia. I came blasting (well, 70-75 mph is "blasting" for a Harley, right? LOL!) down around a curve in Crawford's Notch and, out of nowhere, there's this HUGE freaking moose just standing in the middle of the road!! Locked up the brakes and skidded to a stop no more than 10 feet away. The moose was totally unconcerned about all the screeching rubber noise and just stood there! We looked at each other for a minute or two and then he slowly ambled across the road into the trees. It was clear that he considered both me and the Harley to be inferior creatures. What a monster! I'm 6' tall and his haunches were above that. I'm from NE Penna. and know all about deer but that thing made a deer look like a bloody midget! Forget about a motorcycle, if you hit something THAT big in a car, then your local funeral director is gonna have a better than average year!!

Cogito ergo equito
