My 02 Speed Four is also leaving a slight trail of oil down the generator cover on the left side. It comes from the top where two wires go down into the cover. After several rides there will be a drip from the bottom of the cover where it all collects. I think its just engine oil though, will be inspecting further.

There was a previous thread about this, though I can't seem to find it now. Apparently the seal where the wires go through the cover consists of a grommet and RTV; a poor RTV job at the factory seemed to be the cause of the leak.
