well, i am thinking that if i hook it up like it is in a car, should anyone jump on it thinking to ride away they won't get to far. most remote starters shut off as soon as you hit the brakes, which i tend to hold when i get on, so i assume most others would (i know, bad logic).
a clutch switch emulator can be made by simply tapping the lines to the neutral indicator lamp with a relay. when the bike powers on and the lamp illuminates when it is in neutral, then the relay closes to emulate the lever being pulled. no light, no emulate, no start.
activating the electronics and the starter are what these were meant to do, so they have provisions for that already. amp draw shouldn't be an issue if the unit can start a v8. our bikes don't draw that much, do they?
anyway, i am guessing then that any starter/alarm combo or starter should work then. i just need to think about how to make it work when i get the unit in front of me.
well, thanks for the replies all. they made me think of some of the issues and probs i may run into.
also, as most customizing is, this is only for ME. no other reason than i think it would be cool. you must understand, i am easily amused :-D
thanks again,
rash
