I worked at an auto parts store for 5 years so I had some inside connections to research this question. You can get the Mobil synthetic 10w-40 recommended through any good retailer. But it is still pricey. The reason is they dont offer that weight synthetic in their regular line. You can buy synthetic Castrol 10w-40 in 5 quart containers at walmart for $21. All the specs and ratings are the same. Stay away from any other viscosity as they contain friction modifiers and have the "mileage friendly" sunburst symbol. The friction modifiers are hell on a wet clutch!
