Well the 2006 Daytona has been ridden & reviewed by "The Australian Motor Cycle News". The only changes noted are the high pressure diecast crankcases from the Speed Triple (1050), a new breather system, a primary drive backlash eliminator and an improved gear selector mechanism. The article states that if the bike is ridden to 85% of its capabilities you will be happy but after that it gets a little more basic, this refers to suspension & front brake basically. Interestingly, in the opinion of the reviewer, the bike is a "fill in machine until it gets a bigger engine or complete redesign, it comes across as a good sportsbike rather than brilliant". It is criticised for being over geared, stiff suspension & not having moved on. The can gets a big wrap & must sound brilliant. $16,990 in Australia + ORC.
So order now, or wait for the bigger engine, or wait for the complete redesign????????? :???:
