Okay, so I just got my factory shop manual. It's a bit confusing, though. The manual restarts at 18,000 miles, but the intervals aren't consistent.

Take, for example, the valve adjustment intervals. The manual says to check lash at 6,000 and 18,000. Does this mean that I check again at 24,000 or 30,000? Or is it something completely different?

The carb synch is the same.

I want to do the "minor" services myself, and take the bike to the dealer for the "majors."

My bike has 33,000 miles, and the dealer said that the 36,000 is a "Major" with about 7.5 hours of labor. How does this jibe with what the manual says?
