I had my 900 Trident for 7years, I loved it, there has not been a bike made to replace it by any manufacturer. When it finally vanished after one last body update in 98 I was gutted. The Sprint is a fine bike but I hate fairing and screens or any type. The riding position and feel of that bike was perfect for me. I moved to the US from England and two years on I have a 95 Speed Triple which down here in North Carolina was hard enough to find but I have ordered a bar raiser kit and a few other bits to give me that Trident feel. I did look at new bikes and although Triumph make some really nice looking bikes, nothing grabbed me like the Trident did. From the first day of ownership to her last wash before the new owner took her away, a grin always came across my face when I looked and she was always a great looking bike, Green and Cream and built like a tank. Never missed a beat and just had that feeling of quality. I just wish Triumph would do the Sprint unfaired, I even pay more to get one like that. I say bring back the Trident for all of us who want new Triumphs but don't want to be surrounded in plastic or ride anything with any Harley/cruiser influences. All the other makes do still give you this as a choice why not Triumph. Like I said I wanted a new one but I rather have a 10 year old 30k mile Speed Triple as a compromise than sell my tastes down the river. I love Triumph and will continue to support them and wait for the day my bike come rolling out of Hinkley once more. OK sorry got a bit carried away there.
Cheers
Nic
