Tuesday, June 14, 2005 – Newnan GA to Stecoah, NC – 350 miles
I tried to avoid Atlanta and it’s burbs on the way to here, but managed to go throught stop light hell for a bit before relenting and jumping on I75 into I575, into 5 And on up into NC. Two days of fighting heat and traffic. I’m cooked and staying put in this here tent site for a couple of nights. And another thing…. I’m not going west. I’m not going to spend 6 of the 14 days I do have slabbing across country.
I looked up, and made my destination, the area around Deals Gap. I settled on some campground that was off the beaten trail and next to a creek. Sounded good to me! The Iron Horse Campground is where I am. A great spot as they go. No where near a road and a very nice creek galloping through the place. While waiting for the attendant, I noticed they were written up in last Decembers MCN, and the light came on so to speak. They have wireless hooked up to a sat dish!.. Yee haa, mildred!
I took a few pictures over the last day and a few of the campground. It is now time to tend dinnah!.
