It's the rider, not the bike. I've seen many hot bikes shamed by a lowly old boat.
And you'll be surprised how fast a 1100GS is throught the corners with a decent rider.
Don't try to beat them, just ride your ride and if you get there first cool, if not be sure to get there front wheel first and not feet first.
