Interesting. Do demand-access lights all work pretty much the same, I wonder? We do a lot of things differently in this part of the country, just for the heck of it, so I wouldn't know if we buy signals from the same vendors you Yankees and Cali guys do or not.

Got to thinking about this issue yesterday at a light that even the Rocket sometimes doesn't trip, so the S3 stood no chance whatsoever. Finally, an older couple in a BMW convertible came along--but they wouldn't pull up close enough to activate the sensor. Maybe they've had bad experiences with middle aged hooligans before or something.

Eventually, they wandered over into the right turn lane, which (because we do have right-on-red these days) won't trigger the light unless a vehicle sits there long enough, so I was beginning to think I'd never get to go. But fortunately, they stopped to look at their map --didn't even want to look over in my direction and ask where they were :hammer: -- and that finally did the trick.

But it definitely did inspire some thinking along these lines.
