I asked my friend whos a engineer and motorcycle drag racer rebuilder for 30 years about breakin. I was thinking the same thing when i got my 02 s3 it was the first new bike i had owned. He said dont lug the engine in a higher gear at low rpm and i could give it short bursts up 8500 rpms. Dont redline it until after first oil change at 500 mile service worked for my bike i guess got 8000 miles on it no issues.
